Basilica of Saint Mary

Basilica of Saint Mary is a Roman Catholic basilica that occupies a city block in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, between 16th and 17th Streets on Hennepin Avenue. It was the country’s first basilica to be built. The co-cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis is the Basilica of Saint Mary. Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

Minneapolis Sculpture Garden consists of 40 permanent art installations plus a number of additional temporary pieces that are rotated in and out on a regular basis, making it one of the largest urban sculpture gardens in the nation. The park board first bought the property in the early 20th century when it was still known as “The Parade” since it had been used for military training exercises. With Theodore Wirth’s formal design, which featured a U.S. flag, park superintendents began referring to it as the Armory Gardens.

Mill City Museum

Mill City Museum is a museum run by the Minnesota Historical Society in Minneapolis. It was constructed in the Washburn “A” Mill’s ruins, near Mill Ruins Park, on the banks of the Mississippi River, and it opened in 2003. The museum’s primary subject matter is the establishment and development of Minneapolis, particularly the flour milling and other industries that benefited from Saint Anthony Falls’ electricity.
