Distillery, Whiskey, Food, Private Events
“We absolutely loved this distillery!! Their bourbon was so delicious and all of the cocktails were super good. The chips and caramelized onion dip were bombs as well!! Can’t wait to go back again!” – Melissa B.
Brother Justus Whiskey Company
Brother Justus Whiskey Company is expertly made as a result of labor-intensive ingenuity and appreciation of the land. It pays homage to a renegade, bootlegger monk from Minnesota who thought that well-made whiskey was a blessing. Their product is produced with respect to the state’s natural resources.
Only in Minnesota do three unique biomes come together just right for whiskey production. White oak flourishes on the edges of The Big Woods, a thick broadleaf forest. The thick grassland soil of the Great Plains is perfect for growing barley. Moreover, the boreal forest has bogs brimming with prehistoric peat.

“This distillery is an absolute gem! The drinks are fantastic, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the story of these unique whiskeys really makes Brother Justus stand apart. We can’t wait to go back in warmer weather to try the outdoor space!” – Daniel M.
Earl Giles Restaurant and Distillery
Earl Giles Restaurant and Distillery is a crew that is really enthusiastic about everything they emphasize in their new facility, which will open in the summer of 2022. Around the distillery’s production floor and their non-alcoholic bottling company, they have intelligently constructed multi-use spaces, converting the enormous 18,000 square feet into a number of cozy and welcoming meeting spaces.
Although their Minnesota distillery is called Earl Giles, the man who gave their company its name was actually born outside of Chicago. He was a pharmacist and confectioner at an apothecary that he owned and ran. From their own apothecary, they now create and supply mixers, elixirs, syrups, and other specialty items to home bartenders, restaurants, and professional bartenders.
“Excellent new distillery in the NE neighborhood. This makes for a fun pit stop around other wonderful breweries and distilleries in the area. A fun mix of cocktails on tap and freshly mixed drinks. Look forward to seeing this new spot get in their groove. Easily some of the best parking around too.”
Twin Spirits Distillery Cocktail Room
Twin Spirits Distillery Cocktail Room is the pet project of Michelle Winchester, who discovered a home for her adventurous personality and taste for adventure in the Twin Cities distilling scene. The first woman-owned distillery in Minnesota, Michelle is eager to establish NE Minneapolis as her distilling haven. Michelle began working on this project in 2014, and it took her two years to get the distillery operational.
The distillery and cocktail bar will be housed in a 1920s property in Northeast Minneapolis, and a second building that will contain a warehouse and potential event space will be acquired and renovated as well. Michelle like the barn-like appearance of the structure and has big green spaces planned to keep the farm-like feel.
“Amazingly distillery, even if you don’t drink alcohol! I haven’t tried the espresso, but if it’s anything like their other drinks, it’s sure to be amazing! The mocktails are simply delicious, and I’m told the others with alcohol content are also excellent. I’ve been there a few times now for their Wednesday evening shows hosted by Queerdo Mpls! Extraordinary times, great performances, and simply a very loving and inclusive space. Orders are done at the tables (reservations available via OpenTable) via QR codes. Drinks are promptly brought out by superb and friendly staff. Food has been by a food truck nearby, although some snacks can be purchased as well.” – Dave M.
Pocket Square Cocktail Lounge & Distillery
Pocket Square Cocktail Lounge & Distillery is thrilled to be a family-owned and run business from the New Hope/Crystal region and is excited to deliver the first micro-distillery and cocktail lounge to New Hope, Minnesota. They are bringing a “hometown” perspective of what their neighbors are searching for when they want a night out because of their local roots.
For the hand-crafted drinks served in their lounge and on their patio, they employ their own distilled spirits. The freshest ingredients are combined with their own house-distilled spirits to create each drink, which they are confident you will love in the lounge and patio. They take care in serving their guests house-infused spirits, house-made simple syrups, and fresh garnishes in their drinks.
