Minnesota Dance Theater
Minnesota Dance Theater was established in 1962 by Loyce Houlton. Tapestry Folkdance Center
Tapestry Folkdance Center began in 1983 and came out of a dance crew like Saltari Dance Emporium. Tapestry’s early years were marked by a certain amount of “nomadic” history as it moved from a high school to a lengthy residence at the Sabathani Community Center on 38th Street in South Minneapolis. Every non-profit organization aspires to have its own building. The image of a structure with free-span space, a sprung hardwood floor, a stage for the music, and a location for dancers to assemble is even grander for folk dance ensembles.
Just about 16 years after the establishment of the organization, the Tapestry Folkdance Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, realized this aim in September 1999. Hollywood Studio of Dance
Hollywood Studio of Dance was founded by Diane Elliott Robinson in 1991 who has been a dance instructor and choreographer for more than 4 decades. In the center of north Minneapolis, on the southwest corner of West Broadway and Penn Avenue, sits the nonprofit, artistic Hollywood Studio of Dance. It has been an honor for Hollywood Studio of Dance to give economically underprivileged children and their families the chance to take part in performing arts activities.
As a continual reminder of the achievement, the dancers of Hollywood Studio of Dance have attained, the local and national performance medals are clearly displayed in the big viewing windows at the front of the building. DeMure Dance had the delight of collaborating with Flying Pig Studio in Minneapolis to provide their classes since 2017.
