Museum of World Treasures
Museum of World Treasures is a non-profit Kansas organization and is capable to offer a variety of entertaining events, educational programs, and inspiring exhibits because of the kindness of its contributor. The Museum’s numerous educational programs, exhibitions, and operations are supported by tax-deductible donations. The Museum of World Treasures was established as a nonprofit in 2001 in the Garvey Center in the heart of Wichita, Kansas, by Dr. Jon and Lorna Kardatzke.
Two years later, the Museum moved to the well-known “Farm & Art Market” building in Old Town as a result of significant expansion. It is a former paper warehouse that has been converted, and it is situated just east of the city center. In the heart of Wichita, Old Town has a diverse selection of eateries, stores, clubs, and activities.

“The best zoo in the world in my opinion! Especially if you like tropical birds. They have a walk-in aviary with lots of beautiful, healthy pigeon/dove species and other birds from around the world. Some of them are very used to people and you can get great close-up photos of them. The other animals were cool to see too. You had your typical lions, tigers, and bears there plus some fun others like penguins and river hogs. Go there in the winter on a Wednesday and admission is dirt cheap.” – Bethany J.
Exploration Place
Exploration Place is Kansas’ premier science center, stirring a profound interest in science and technology through imaginative and amusing experiences for everyone. A mission-driven not-for-profit organization, Exploration Place is funded by admission fees, membership dues, donations from the general public, and voluntary contributions from private individuals, businesses, and foundations.

Wichita Art Museum
Wichita Art Museum takes people, ideas, and American art together to enhance lives and establish community. The Wichita Art Museum is home to a renowned collection of American art and is located in the Riverside neighborhood, five minutes from downtown, in the center of the Museums on the River region. With 10,000+ works in its permanent collection, including works by Mary Cassatt and Edward Hopper, the Wichita Art Museum, one of the biggest art museums in Kansas, is home to one of the best collections in the nation.
Two striking, expansive pieces by Seattle glass artist Dale Chihuly are on display at the museum. The “Persian Seaform Installation,” which was inspired by the intricate designs of traditional Persian glass, makes a spectacular first impression at the Museum’s entrance, while the “Confetti Chandelier” is hung in the S. Great Plains Nature Center is a collaborative project among the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, the City of Wichita, and the Friends of the Great Plains Nature Center nonprofit association.
