Grace Wu Kung Fu School was born into a family with a history steeped in Chinese martial arts customs. Young Grace started learning kung fu from her grandfather, the well-known grandmaster Wang Zi-ping of China, her mother, Professor Wang Ju-rong, the first female grandmaster of Wushu in New China, and her father, Dr. Wu Cheng-de, a well-known Wushu master and orthopedic surgeon. The grandpa of Grace was prohibited from being a teacher during the Culture Revolution.
