Star of Honolulu‘s humble beginning began in 1957 functioning as two small vessels for Pearl Harbor excursions. By 1981, the present management team united the establishment and set out to broaden the company. At that moment, there were more than 15 companies on Oahu offering simple dinner cruises with disposable tableware and all-you-can-drink beverage concepts.
Their goal was to distinguish themselves by providing a high-quality “Experience of Aloha,” a special concept at the time. By 1992, the company evolved an all-new “Royal Sunset” dinner cruise concept and made the 1,500-passenger “Star of Honolulu,” Hawaii’s biggest dinner cruise vessel, intended specifically for navigation in Hawaiian waters.
