Everett & Jones Barbeque
Everett & Jones Barbeque was launched in Oakland, California by Dorothy Everett in 1973 with her one son, and eight daughters. Dorothy and her husband Cleveland are raised in the little community of Westpoint in rural Alabama, where they are both born and raised. The family made the decision to relocate to California in search of better possibilities for their three children and unborn kid.
In order to obtain employment and a place for the family to live, Cleveland Everett left Alabama first in 1952, and Dorothy followed later with the kids. Dorothy and Cleveland split up eight years later, leaving Dorothy to look after the kids. She put a lot of effort into providing for her children as a housewife while also working part-time maintaining a smoke pit for Flint’s Barbeque.
