Buffalo Exchange leads the resale fashion industry, provides a livelihood for its employees, a fair return to its owners, and achieves sustainable profitability by being the most beneficial place for its customers to buy, sell and trade new and recycled clothing. In 1974 Kerstin and Spencer Block established the first Buffalo Exchange in Tucson, Arizona. Kerstin, addressing from Sweden, reflecting the word “Buffalo” sounded very American, and since they were introducing the idea of fashionable clothing “Exchange,” the name was born.
In the 45 years since that 450 square foot store around the University of Arizona has bloomed into almost 50 stores across the US. Buffalo Exchange maintain to be managed by Kerstin and her daughter Rebecca and is still headquartered in Tucson.
