Murray Hill Radiology and Mammography
Dr. Julie Mitnick attended medical school at NYU and remained to complete her residency and fellowship in Pediatric Radiology. After ten years of academics, teaching, engaging in research and publishing multiple scholarly articles, she decided that she would transition to full time patient care. Initially starting a full service radiology practice, Murray Hill Radiology and Mammography, (a very unusual event at the time), she quickly narrowed her focus and energy on mammography.
It was the custom at that time to have women come for a study and then be called back for additional films. At MHR they decided that complete care to the level possible would be done during the initial visit to speed diagnosis and allay patient anxiety. So they had mammography, ultrasonography and needle aspirations of suspected abnormalities performed at once. While common today, this was most unusual in the mid-80’s and unheard of in private practice.

Dr. Bachir Taouli is Professor of Radiology and Medicine in the Body Imaging Section (Department of Radiology) and the Translational and Molecular Imaging Institute (TMII) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. After completing medical school and Radiology Residency in Paris VI University (France) in 2000, he joined the UCSF Department of Radiology for a research fellowship and post-doctoral clinical training. He then joined the NYU Department of Radiology where he worked for 6 years and where he developed clinical applications of advanced MRI techniques applied to liver, kidney and prostate diseases, including diffusion and perfusion imaging and spectroscopy. He joined the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2009, where he is currently the director of Body MRI and Cancer Imaging in the Department of Radiology and TMII. Dr Taouli has been named vice-chair for translational research in April 2017. Dr. Taouli is a clinician scientist with particular expertise in the application of advanced MRI sequences applied to diffuse liver disease/liver cancer and abdominal and pelvic malignancies, including prostate cancer.

Dr. Susan R. Drossman is an interventional breast radiologist in private practice in New York City, specializing in imaging guided biopsies. She graduated magna cum laude from The University of Pennsylvania in 1984 with a B.S. in Biological Basis of Behavior and received her M.D. with Honors from the Mount Sinai Medical School in 1988.
