Get Moving! How FIX Health Got Our Firm Exercising By Chasing Us With Zombies

As the CEO of a PR firm, where creativity is crucial, I am always on the lookout for ways to support and inspire our team members, both inside and outside of the workplace. So when we stumbled upon the fitness app, ‘A Step Ahead’ (ASA), we were immediately intrigued. Run from zombies in a game that uses your steps and workouts in the real world as power in the game? Of course, we had to give it a try to see how it could benefit our team.

A Step Ahead, powered by FIX Health, is a wellness platform that leverages technology and the expertise of FIX Health’s team of health professionals to help individuals take control of their health and wellness. The app is designed to enhance employee health and well-being by getting employees to be more physically active using engagement techniques from the video game industry. With its comprehensive features and access to FIX Health’s team of health professionals, A Step Ahead is the perfect tool for anyone looking to improve their health and well-being.

Our experience with the app was nothing short of impressive. We hear it all the time in 2023: Gamification is rapidly becoming the go-to strategy for enhancing engagement and personal development. I am here to say that sentiment is entirely correct.

We were blown away by the app’s ability to motivate us and keep us engaged throughout the day, leading to a noticeable improvement in our physical and mental health. ASA not only encouraged physical activity and movement but also brought out the child-like joy in all of us. It’s amazing how a simple app can transform our daily routine and foster teamwork and healthy competition. Read on to learn about our experience with ASA and how it’s changed our day-to-day.

Moving Beyond Desks

We approached our ASA experience with curiosity and enthusiasm. Our team members, who spend a significant amount of time sitting at their computers, were excited to use an app that encouraged them to move around and prioritize their physical health. We found that ASA not only helped us achieve our fitness goals, but also fostered a sense of healthy competition and teamwork within our organization.

I am committed to finding new ways to empower and motivate my team so that they can excel when serving our clients. At our company, excellence is the core value that we strive for, with ourselves first so we can be excellent with each other and our clients. I was thrilled to see this value reflected in our team’s experience with ASA! I observed that the app pushed everyone to be the best versions of themselves and encouraged them to step outside of their comfort zones to engage in more physical activity than usual.

What stood out to me was the strong sense of camaraderie among my team, and how the competition and fun aspects of the app brought great energy to the workplace. I highly recommend ASA to other organizations, no matter their size, as a way to get their employees moving and foster project-free teamwork in the workplace.

As I continued to hear feedback from my team members about their experiences with ASA, I was curious to hear more. Karla, an executive staff member, shared her thoughts on the app with me and how it helped her prioritize her health and fitness despite her busy work schedule. “My experience with ASA was very positive. I was obsessed with the step tracker and enjoyed the interactive element of the app where zombies would appear and come closer to make me keep moving! It was so motivating.”

Karla’s positive experience with ASA inspired other members of the Victorious PR team to share their positive experiences as well. Aleksandra, our Head of PR, was excited to see how the app could help her prioritize physical activity despite her busy schedule.

Aleks found the social aspect of the fitness app to be enjoyable and a great way to stay connected with her teammates. “It is so fun to see the team and compare what everybody is doing,” she said.

As the Victorious PR team continued to compete in ASA, the app’s impact on employee health and wellness became even more apparent. Different people have different fitness goals and preferences, and the app’s flexibility allows users to tailor their experience to meet their needs. For some, like Karla, the step tracker and interactive features are incredibly motivating.

For others, the app’s ability to sync with Apple Health and other phone health apps may be more effective. This reminds us that what works for one person may not work for another, and that is okay. The important thing is that the app offers a variety of options to run from the zombies so that everyone can find a way that works for them.

Even those who were initially hesitant to try ASA were surprised by how motivating and engaging the app could be. Anne, our Head of Publications, was initially skeptical but quickly became a fan of the app’s user-friendly design and fun features.

“A Step Ahead was super useful for me, since I spend so much time working at my desk,” she said. “Running from zombies as a post-apocalyptic character encouraged me to move around more throughout my day. It made me able to better focus on work too, which I was not necessarily expecting.”

ASA has great potential for helping people prioritize their health and well-being, especially those who may not have the time or resources to engage in structured exercise programs. Anne’s positive experience with ASA mirrors that of our Client Specialist, Regina. She was thrilled with the results and wanted to share her thoughts on how it has impacted her life:

“As a Client Specialist, I’m always looking for ways to stay active and maintain a healthy lifestyle, especially since I work all day,” Regina said. “ASA has been a game-changer for me, both in terms of my physical activity and my overall well-being. I love that the app encourages me to get up and move, even if it’s just for a few minutes at a time. Plus, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my mood and energy levels since I started using the app. If you’ve never repeatedly walked around the same block in your neighborhood, frantically tapping your screen to run away from zombies, 10 real-life steps at a time, you haven’t lived.”

In conclusion, our experience using A Step Ahead was a resounding success. We were able to improve our physical activity levels, while also promoting teamwork and camaraderie among our team members. The app’s features were user-friendly and engaging, and the positive effects of using it were evident almost immediately. We highly recommend A Step Ahead to anyone looking to improve their physical health and overall well-being, and we look forward to continuing to use it as part of our wellness initiatives here at Victorious PR!
