Red Stix Street Food

Red Stix Street Food beautifully captures the sights, smells, and tastes of Asian street food. Their menu is a culmination of Chef Uno’s childhood memories in Thailand and her wide-ranging travels. The finishing flourish of each hand-crafted bowl or sandwich is a Red Stix, their signature yakitori skewer.

Each Red Stix is threaded with morsels of chicken, pork, or steak, bathed in their umami-rich, silky marinade, and grilled over binchotan charcoal. Their grill-masters vigorously fan them until the coals hiss, flames spark, smoke puffs and the meat quickly cooks to juicy, charred deliciousness. The Red Stix is nestled atop the bowls or sandwiches that their guests customize with layers of fresh vegetables, pickled daikon, and herbs.

Royal China Restaurant started with Buck Shu-Chang Kao, founder, father, and grandfather, and good friend to many. Buck was a decorated WWII veteran and a renowned military attaché as well as a diplomat of National Chinese in Washington and many countries in the world. In 1972, he and his family immigrated to Dallas to make a fresh start.

After subsiding into his new home, he and his friends, along with a chef from Taiwan, united together to start an afresh attempt, and in 1974, Royal China was made. His son, George, and his wife, April, proceed to carry on and retain Buck’s legacy with fresh and modern new additions.
