The Learning Resource Center
The Learning Resource Center has been assisting students since 1981. They are the oldest, locally owned, and managed Tutoring provider in the Tidewater area. They also offer Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder or those with behavioral concerns. The LRC gives assessment and advocacy services. Tidewater Learning Center was created by Marie Sexton, M.Ed, an Educational Diagnostician specializing in learning disabilities. Mrs. Sexton has been an instructor for 30+ years and has more than 20 years of experience in diagnostics. She is an Educational Diagnostician for Tidewater Community College and has worked favorably with many schools and colleges in the Tidewater area. Her daughter, Christin Rogers, is Assistant Director of TLC. Tidewater Learning Center presently employs 6 tutors, all with backgrounds in education. Many currently work, or formerly taught, in the public school system.
