Yarid’s Shoe Store
Yarid’s Shoe Store has been your source for unique wares for three generations, and their family legacy is steeped in hard work, sacrifice, and the power of family. In the early 1900s, their grandfather, Samuel, left Lebanon and set off to America in pursuit of prosperity. His commitment and charm quickly made him a successful businessman in Richmond, VA. Just when he thought that life couldn’t get any better, he met their grandmother Dora Hanna, a straight-talking, fiery, young Lebanese woman who shared their grandfather’s lofty aspirations.
In 1918, their grandparents opened the first Yarid’s in Lewisburg, West Virginia. By this time, their grandfather had gained a reputation as a visionary entrepreneur while their business-savvy grandmother was the backbone of the growing empire. They have transformed Yarid’s from an extensive department store to a specialized, luxurious boutique chain that is now loved across the nation.

“I called from Florida to order my sister some Ugg slippers (which were pretty hard to track down) and they were SO helpful! They even wrapped the gift up in nice wrapping paper with a big pink bow for her to come to pick up! Thank you once again” – Viviana S.
Tradehome Shoes started in 1921, and the name Tradehome remains to this day. It was family-run until 1999 when nine individuals, who had worked their way up in the company, bought it. Their succession plans include getting other Tradehome workers involved with ownership. Tradehome provides endless growth opportunities for individuals to work their way up through management, regional supervision, district management, buying positions, and possibly even ownership. All it takes is desire and hard work.
From 2 stores in 1921 to over 120 stores in 2022, the success of Tradehome’s survival and growth has been summed up by its former owner, Donald Mains, in one word, people. People mean their customers and the exceptional level of customer service that sets them apart from other operations. People also mean all the Tradehome organization with the ability and the attitude that has assured their success all these years. This focus on client service is what has set Tradehome apart from all of the other competitors, both past and present.
