Watts & WardPubs in Raleigh

Watts & Ward is the newest craft cocktail bar in Raleigh’s central business district. The 1920s American underground culture was the inspiration for the founding of Watts & Ward. Over a decade before Prohibition, when laws like the Watts Act of 1903 and the Ward Law of 1905 attempted to stifle this state’s free spirits, the shrewd and untamed residents banded together underground.

Like the streams that run through North Carolina from the mountains to the sea, these enterprises were teeming with bootleg spirits, alive with music, and riotous with life. Nearly a century later, Watts & Ward is still leading the fight to spread ideas and preserve that culture. Watts & Ward are committed to continuing the battle for justice for another 100 years.

REVIEWS:

“Great food and variety of beers on tap. Had TV tuned to various sports channels and karaoke with a live DJ that night? Patio area outside. Fish and chips ($13) were great, pieces were large and not overly battered, and their chips are a unique cross between a potato wedge and a crisp, 20oz draft Boddington ($6) was fresh with a perfect head, chili bowl ($6) was very filling though it does contain green peppers if you’re not a fan. Would stop by again especially as they serve food until closing.” – Craig C.

Saints & Scholars PubPubs Raleigh

Saints & Scholars Pub is a local tavern in north Raleigh that offers the best beer selection, food, and live music the Triangle has to offer. On July 5, 2012, two brothers who owned Solomon’s Mediterranean Restaurants reopened Saints and Scholars Irish Pub, making it North Raleigh’s best-kept secret.

The establishment had previously been closed. They cordially invite you to dine in, have food delivered to you, host a party, or even order meals to be catered to you at Saints and Scholars, which unites two worlds of delectable, fresh, home-cooked food. Saints and Scholars’ interior is split between a dining area with an Irish design and a pub area with 16 beers on tap and a full bar. With two fire pits, heaters, and two canopies, our patio is pet-friendly. They are open seven days a week, so stop by and say hello!

“Such a nice little pub is hidden away beside the Harris Teeter. We went last night for a football game and early anniversary dinner and our server was absolutely phenomenal. I wish I could remember her name but kudos to her! The food was amazing, the menu had so many diverse choices. We will be back for sure. An awesome place to eat.” – Candice S.

Lucky B’sOne of the best Pubs in Raleigh

Lucky B’s is Raleigh’s best bar overall and a favorite hangout in Glenwood South. Some people refer to them as “Lucky B’s.” They’re known as the “Lucky 13s” by other folks. They are still referred to as “around the corner” by some. Whatever name they give them, Glenwood South knows they’re the place to be. They modernize how a “sports bar” feels and appears. People adore them because they can spend every night of the week hanging out with their friends in their jammies and buying a drink without having to break the bank.

The most popular corner bar in Raleigh is tucked away behind Armadillo Grill off Glenwood Avenue. They have the cheapest beer and cocktails in Raleigh, a broad and eclectic customer base, skilled bartenders, pub games, year-round outdoor seating, and more. It’s not your normal Top 40 radio mix; their music is different. Visitors can hear any of their favorite songs on the jukebox. These are just a few of the reasons Lucky B’s has repeatedly won the esteemed Z Spotlight award for Raleigh’s Best All-Around Bar.

“This is one of my favorite bars on Glenwood. There’s never a line to get in, no cover charge, and never have to wait too long for a drink. Fire pits are great when its a little chilly out and the inside has everything. There’s beer pong, pool, dance floor, punching game and more.” – Kenny B.
