H & W Drug Store was established in 1963 by Sterling J. Henry, RPh, in the bottom 9th ward. as well as Wesley J. Watkins, RPh. at 5525 N. Galvez. H&W moved to 2034 Caffin Avenue across the block in 1991. Mr. Watkins died in 1991, and Mr. Sterling J. Henry and his son Ruston Henry, RPh. retired in 1999. became the company’s new owner and chief pharmacist after taking over.

Hurricane Katrina forced H&W to temporarily close its doors in August 2005. On November 1, 2011, H&W reopened at New Orleans East’s The USA Market. The Westbank H&W Drug Store continues the long heritage of prompt, courteous service and is currently housed inside the Budget Saver supermarket at 1951 Barataria Boulevard in Marrero, LA.
