Kimpton Journeyman Hotel
Kimpton Journeyman Hotel preserves the past while combining the finest of the contemporary as a modern structure in a historic neighborhood. Big windows, a large chandelier, smart art, and a concrete stenciled floor welcome neighbors and travelers alike, with furnishings arranged to encourage anything from striking up a conversation over a glass of wine to resting in by the fireplace with a book.
The rooms are also unusual yet familiar, with well-worn rugs that feel like heirlooms, footstools stuffed with useful information, and a rough, hand-hewn desk that is gorgeous in its rough, hand-hewn form. There’s so much to do here — like challenge a friend to a game of giant Connect 4 at The Outsider, their rooftop restaurant and bar, or pick up a picnic basket from Tre Rivali, their on-site Mediterranean-inspired restaurant — and even more to do right outside their front doors in the bustling Third Ward neighborhood.
