Crossroads LA, Inc.Top Disability Cares in New Orleans

Crossroads LA, Inc. was established in 1982 by Dr. Gerald Murphy to assist people in the Greater New Orleans area who have intellectual challenges. Dr. Murphy recognized the urgent need for community-based programs that optimize each person’s capacity for independent community living and self-sufficiency as more and more State facilities started to close their doors.

Dr. Murphy is now Crossroads Louisiana’s president. Crossroads Louisiana, Inc.’s executive director is Susan M. McIlwain. Dr. Murphy approached Susan in 2006 to assist in rebuilding the organization’s residential and day program facilities following Hurricane Katrina’s devastation in 2005.
