Progress Inc
Progress Inc, In 1971 was formed by a small group of worried parents with a wish for their children to live independently. The non-profit agency has now given daily activities and support staff to hundreds of adults with developmental disabilities for nearly 43 years. In 2009, Progress extended its services by providing non-medical support to seniors in their own homes across Middle Tennessee. In 2013, Progress also established a program for youths with intellectual disabilities – Camp Progress. Progress persist to expand programming in 2014 by establishing an Employment Network for people with disabilities, both intellectual and physical.
Furthermore, Progress start its social enterprise, smART (Scrap Made Art Supplies) store which acknowledges donations of scrap items destined for a landfill and sells them as art and crafts supplies while offering employment opportunities for people they provide services to and providing funding for the programs of Progress.
