REVIEWS:

“I have always enjoyed visiting this restaurant whether we were living in the Bay Area (Fremont PF Chang’s) and moving back to LBC. It’s my go to place at shoreline village area for Chinese food.” – Carl V

Yang Chow 2.0

Yang Chow 2.0 opened its doors in the center of Chinatown in 1977. It was a former diner that had been transformed into a two-room restaurant and was situated underneath the Bing Wong Hotel. The restaurant, which bears the name of their village, was founded by a family of five brothers. The Yun family has operated restaurants for many years. In the early 1980s, a Los Angeles Times piece spotlighting the restaurant’s specialty dish, Slippery Shrimp, pushed Yang Chow to national attention. Some clients arrived carrying the article and requesting to sample the meal with a catchy name. From that point on, business began to steadily increase, and it has grown over time.

REVIEWS:

“Very good American Chinese restaurant. This the same Yang Chow in Chinatown and Pasadena but with a slimmer menu. They are known for the slippery shrimp dish, but the Szechuan beef is Amazing too. very crispy and tender with nice gingery flavor. The spring rolls are very crispy and highly recommended. The bowl sides are going to be rice and Broccoli. Important: expect a line, and if they do not answer your phone call is because they are very busy!” – Rami Doueiri
