Spielman Bagels and Coffee Roasters
Spielman Bagels and Coffee Roasters has been baking amazing sourdough bagels and roasting shade-grown coffee in Portland. They provide a variety of vegan options and currently provide stay-at-home delivery through their website. Spielman Bagels & Coffee began as a father-son coffee roasting business in 2011. The division’s first shop was opened by Rick and his son Raf Spielman. Their goal for the shop was to use in-house roasting to spread the word about the environmental benefits of shade-grown coffee to a wider audience.
Spielman coffee was well-received, but Spielman bagels swiftly overtook it. The bagel was created with a sourdough starter then kettle-boiled to perfection. These bagels have been a huge hit since 2011. They’ve grown to include four Portland sites, a wholesale kitchen, and more than 50 merchants in Salem and Portland. They maintain their objective of offering high-quality, unique products to the community while embracing the aesthetic quirks that make Portland special, even as they continue to develop.
