The Children’s Place
The Children’s Place, David Pulver and Clinton Clark launched the company in Hartford, Connecticut in 1969. They started out selling toys, clothing, and accessories before realizing that garments had the most potential for expansion. By the early 1980s, The Children’s Place had repositioned itself as a specialty shop of children’s wear for newborns to pre-teens, and it had begun to offer both branded and private label items.
The Children’s Place purchased the Gymboree brand in 2019 and debuted the product in select locations and online in early 2020. This popular company is known for its bright colors and whimsical bow-to-toe ensembles, which celebrate children while also ensuring that families look their best on each occasion. These two brands work together to embrace the kids we care about and motivate them to live, learn, and love their childhood.
