Dr. Kjerstin Jacobs is a founding partner of Metropolitan Veterinary Center, worked for a veterinarian when she was young and saw such passion and dedication in the way he approached his work that she decided to become a veterinarian, too.
Dr. Jacobs earned her DVM from the University of Wisconsin, Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Jacobs completed an internship in equine surgery at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center. She then practiced on sport horses in New Jersey for several years before returning to Chicago and entering small animal practice.

Dr. Dan Sanchez, co-founder of South Loop Animal Hospital, graduated from Ross University after completing his clinical year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Originally from New Jersey, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Sanchez practiced small animal medicine for a number of years in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood prior to establishing South Loop Animal Hospital with Dr. Manrique.
