Dr. Jay Levy was born and raised in Dallas, Texas where he attended the University of Texas as an undergraduate from which he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Levy then attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School where he graduated with honors and was named to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Levy completed his urologic surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania where he spent a great deal of his training at the renowned Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
He completed his pediatric urology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. After completion of his training, Dr. Levy moved to Charlotte in 1996 and subsequently established Pediatric Urology Associates. Dr. Levy is board-certified in Urology by the American Board of Urology and has also earned the subspecialty certification in Pediatric Urology.

Children’s Urology of the Carolinas
Dr. Luis M. Pérez started private practice in Charlotte in June 2001. He is married with 3 children. He was previously an associate professor of surgery (pediatric urology) at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine. Dr. Luis was on the UAB university faculty for 6 years, practicing at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, a freestanding private children’s hospital. Dr. Luis has written or co-authored over 40 original scientific articles and book chapters.

Dr. Joseph Molitierno grew up in Punxsutawney, PA, and attended the University of Pittsburgh as an undergraduate where he studied molecular biology and biochemistry and graduated with honors. Dr. Joe moved to North Carolina where he worked as a researcher and manager at the University of North Carolina’s Human Gene Therapy Center before his admission to the University of North Carolina Medical School. While at UNC Dr. Joe was named to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Children’s Urology of the Carolinas
Dr. Winifred A. Owumi lately completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Urology at Stanford University in 2014, after which she started in private practice in January 2015 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She completed her medical school, general surgery residency, and fellowship training at Stanford University. Dr. Owumi’s comprehensive medical training in such an esteemed research institution afforded her many research, clinical, and volunteer opportunities. Her scientific and medical research achievements and interests have been duly recognized and reflected in her numerous scientific presentations, publications, and awards at various conferences.
Her interests also extend to mission work and other volunteer activities, such as with The International Volunteers in Urology (IVUmed), most recently in Swaziland and Uganda.
