“I go to this store almost every day, usually early in the morning when the fresh fruits and veggies come in and yesterday’s stuff goes on sale. Everything outside is fresh and the apple house next door smells amazing, offering different varieties of apples. You can find any kind of fruit or veggie, including stuff I’ve never seen and fresh herbs. The staff is very sweet and helpful.” – Abigail S.
WinCo Foods established a recent 900,000 sq ft grocery and transient distribution center in 1998 in Woodburn, Oregon. At that moment, it serviced all of the stores the company possesses. By having its own distribution center, WinCo Foods was competent to improve management costs and product prices, along with creating hundreds of jobs in Woodburn, OR.
This distribution center was a significant step in the development that would soon take place. In 1999, it was a moment for a transformation and a new name. As an employee-proprietary company, it made sense that the company’s new name came from its employees. After a company-wide contest and vote, the new name was resolved – WinCo Foods. Under its new name, WinCo Foods would stay on its path to success.
In 2014 WinCo Foods was able to better serve stores situated in Southern California, as well as concentrate on its Arizona and Las Vegas expansion, by opening a distribution center located in Phoenix, AZ.

Sprouts Farmers Market
Sprouts Farmers Market believes being different is a good thing. Others say natural is the new normal, but at Sprouts, there’s nothing new about natural foods. Back in 2002, they established their first store in an attempt to make natural foods accessible to everyone. Up until then, grocery stores offering fresh, organic choices were either very costly to shop for or too hard to find. They wanted to be different. No more zigzagging under a maze of narrow aisles without anyone providing help.
No more ingredient lists featuring 40 unpronounceable chemicals. And above all, no more spending an entire paycheck for food from the honest labor of a farmer, not a factory. Currently, they have grown to more than 360 stores and over 35,000 team members. It’s these individuals who are essential to their success. They’re the ones who put well at the heart of everything they do at Sprouts, every day, in every community, with every guest.

“Sprouts makes the best sandwiches! I am a sandwich lover and the ones they make at sprouts are delicious. I love the fact that I could order it the way I want it. As a grocery store, I love them because they carry hard-to-find produce and a large number of healthy products that are hard to find in other grocery stores. At this particular sprouts, everyone is always very friendly. This one does get busy so I always allow for a little extra time for checkout. Buying stuff out of their bulk bins saves me a lot of money in the long run. They also have a very large supplement and nutrient selection as well as specialty foods for people with gluten issues, diabetes, high cholesterol, etc, etc.” – Sam S.
