Dr. Gary Zammit received BA and MA degrees from Oakland University (Rochester, Michigan), and received the degree of Ph.D. from the University of Toledo (Toledo, Ohio). He completed his clinical internship and fellowship at the New York Hospital – Cornell University Medical College (White Plains, New York), with emphasis on sleep medicine and clinical research. Dr. Zammit currently is the Executive Director of the Sleep Disorders Institute and a Clinical Associate Professor at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Zammit founded the Sleep Disorders Institute at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital in 1990, which he later privatized in 2001. Dr. Zammit is a widely recognized expert in sleep medicine, has been the principal investigator on more than 150 CNS clinical trials, and has served as a consultant to several pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Dr. Zammit has authored more than 80 original publications and two books, and has served as a reviewer or editor for prestigious medical journals, including Sleep, Chronobiology International, Physiology and Behavior, and JAMA.

Dr. Allen Towfigh is licensed and Board-Certified in both Neurology as well as Sleep Medicine, with expertise in the evaluation and treatment of all adult neurological and sleep related complaints. He is affiliated with the Weill-Cornell Medical College and the New York Presbyterian Hospital as well as the Hospital for Special Surgery.
