Hamed Aryafar, MD, is a board-certified interventional radiologist. He specializes in treating pediatric and adult vascular malformations, including arteriovenous malformations, venous malformations, venolymphatic malformations, Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome and other vascular lesions.
An associate professor and vice chair of Radiology Informatics in the Department of Radiology at UC San Diego School of Medicine, his research explores portal hypertension, vascular malformations and medical informatics as a tool for improving patient care.

Dr. Kortman joined San Diego Imaging Medical Group in 1987. He is a Board Certified radiologist and his subspecialties include neuroradiology, interventional radiology, and pain treatment. He received his undergraduate degree from Point Loma College and his Medical Degree from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Kortman completed his Internship and Residency in radiology at UCSD. He went on to complete Fellowship training in neuroradiology at UCSD and an additional Fellowship in MRI at Huntington Medical Research Institute in Pasadena, California.

Dr. Low is board certified in diagnostic radiology and specializes in body imaging. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara, before obtaining a D.D.S. at the University of California, Los Angeles. He then went on to complete his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego, followed by his internship at St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco. There, he received the David Carroll Medical Intern of the Year Award. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of California, San Francisco, and his fellowship training in MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Low is the Medical Director of Sharp and Children’s MRI Center. He has been extensively published in radiology journals and has been awarded several research grants. Dr. Low is recognized as a leading expert on body MRI and is an invited speaker at many scientific presentations. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine.

Dr. Heimbigner attended Arizona State University for his undergraduate education from 1995-1999. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with the recognition of magna cum laude. Dr. Heimbigner then moved on to his medical school training at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth (Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine) from 2000-2004. He received multiple academic awards during his four years of medical school training, but most notably achieved a cumulative class rank of number one. Dr. Heimbigner was a participant in the Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program from 2000-2004.
Upon graduating from TCOM, he was selected for a transitional internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego from 2004-2005. Dr. Heimbigner was awarded transitional intern of the year. After completing his internship, he served as a General Medical Officer for the U.S. Marine Corps from 2005-2007. He was stationed with an infantry battalion in the 1st Marine Division during this time.
Dr. Heimbigner was then selected for a radiology residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, and attended the program from 2007-2011. He served as chief resident during his last two years of training. Dr. Heimbigner was subsequently chosen for a competitive Body MRI fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, attending the program from 2012-2013. He received state of the art training in magnetic resonance imaging with a specific focus on abdominal, pelvic, and cardiac imaging. Dr. Heimbigner elected to participate in additional training in breast MRI interpretation and intervention at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
Dr. Heimbigner is a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology. He currently practices all facets of diagnostic radiology, but has a particular interest in abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, and breast imaging.
