Dr. Mikin Patel is an Assistant Professor of Vascular and Interventional Radiology in the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Arizona. Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the University of Illinois while simultaneously earning his Master of Business Administration degree. He then completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Chicago during which he earned the Hodges award for resident research, the Chien-Tai Lu award for outstanding clinical work in Interventional Radiology, and participated in the AUR Resident Academic Leadership Program. Following his residency, Dr. Patel completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Northwestern University. He then joined the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Division at the University of Arizona.

Dr. Patel’s primary clinical interests include management of inferior vena cava filters, treatment of deep and superficial venous disease (including May-Thurner and Paget-Schroetter syndromes), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and other liver tumors, cirrhosis, portal hypertension, hepatobiliary interventions, and minimally-invasive treatment of uterine fibroids with uterine artery embolization (UAE). His research interests include management of IVC filters, deep venous disease, Yttrium-90 radioembolization, as well as the effect Interventional Radiology has on healthcare quality and economics.

Dr. Patel is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, and the Society of Interventional Radiology.
