“I have had Dr. Mills as a doctor for a year and two months. I found my association to be very helpful. It was very easy to schedule and reschedule appointments with him over the email. That made my experience very simple. During our sessions, he answered all of my questions and suggested good reference material to improve me as a person. His answers and approaches always had a larger perspective with it. Also, he ensured that I am comfortable with the treatment before prescribing me the same. Also, he discussed pro and cons of every possible alternative which helped me to choose right option. I would highly recommend him. He is very professional and friendly!” -Mihir Mehta
Chicago Child Psychiatry Associates
Dr. Amer Smajkic – Since 1995, Dr. Amer Smajkic has been practicing Psychiatry in the Chicago area. As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr Smajkic is applying his knowledge and skills as a Psycho-pharmacologist, Behaviorist and Cognitive Behavioral therapist. The focus of his care are ADHD disorders, Learning disorders, Developmental disorders, Mood disorders and Anxiety disorders.
Dr. Amer Smajkic has a unique story that begins in the country of Bosnia, where he grew up and graduated from medical school at Sarajevo University. When the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina began, he was assigned to a vascular surgery residency program to serve his country. He treated people on the front line and in the hospital, while in constant risk of death by bullets, bombs, hunger or thirst. For months, he saved lives by assisting in hundreds of surgical procedures, often by candlelight, with no electricity or water. During these experiences, he learned how satisfying it was to treat people with war injuries. He also learned that healing came not only from surgeries, but also from long conversations with patients at night, while they listened to explosions throughout the city. He lived in constant fear for his safety and finally left the country to save his own life.

“We have decided to travel to Chicago specifically to see Dr. Smajkic and have our four year old, who is experiencing speech delay and some behavioral issues, evaluated. Now we can tell it was the best decision we could have made. The evaluation was very thorough and gave us enormous confidence in Dr. Smajkic expertise, but what made otherwise stressful situation to be really different, was his exceptional approach, which was very warm and friendly, but also very educational. He gave us not only specific advice and education, but also helped with literature and offered further support. We came to see Dr. Smajkic confused (and to certain degree scared), feeling that we don’t really know what to do and how to best help our son, and we left our appointment with clarity and plan, feeling very much empowered and optimistic. Dr. Smajkic has already made enormous difference in our lives (of the whole family), and probably for a very long term too. Should we need additional help, we won’t think twice about coming to Chicago to see Dr. Smajkic again. I would like to give highest possible recommendation to all parents seeking to help their children with developmental issues.” -Ivana V.

“I totally agree–the negative reviews don’t make any sense. Dr. Mehta is one of the kindest, most patient and trustworthy doctors I have met. She remembers everything about me, really tries to make a difference in my life, and has helped me through some of the most difficult times. She is unbelievably responsive to emails (I mean, you can email her directly!!) and takes time outside of appointments to speak with my family (with my permission). Her gentle demeanor and patient listening make me feel so comfortable. Take it from me. I have seen plenty of psychiatrists in my days, and Dr. Mehta stands out as one of the best.” -Stacey O.
Charles E. Kaegi, M.D.

Attention deficit disorder, Bipolar disorder, Anxiety disorders, Depression/Mood disorders, Schizophrenia
“I have been seeing Dr. Kaegi for a little over a year and am very happy with my treatment and overall experience. He is very nice and seems to have a lot of knowledge about the medications he prescribes. I know that sounds a bit ridiculous, but I have had two experiences with psychiatrists that have prescribed the wrong medications or ones with very serious interactions with my other meds. Also, he has reasonable prices for patients without insurance. That is very hard to come by these days!” -Stefanie Cobb
Dr. William R. Lynch– Even after thirty years of practicing psychiatry he keeps discovering new, fascinating aspects of it. The intricacies of human development, the enormous variation in how people interact with others, and the massive complexities of neural processes are all involved in his daily work with patients. His training and experience have prepared him to work with a wide range of clinical conditions. Psychoanalytic training and practice make up one of the theoretical foundations of his approach to patients. The other is his first, true love – biology. Studying the neurobiology of psychiatric disorders is intellectually satisfying and deepens his understanding of the fundamental challenges faced by his patients.
Individual psychotherapy, Couples and family therapy, Psychopharmacotherapy, Medication consultation
“Dr.Lynch has come through every time I have needed him! I perform for a living and dont have time for regular sessions. Not only does the doc accomidate me and my sudden bookings but he has helped me dial in my meds to best suit my lifestyle.” -HumBug Media
