Memorial Park
Memorial Park is one of Jacksonville’s best-loved parks. Located along the banks of the majestic St. Johns River, this six-acre park draws visitors across the world. “Well kept park, open lawn, sidewalk path, and a water front view. It was a nice small park, nothing outstanding for me. The statue was really nice and pretty deep symbolism of life if you read the plaque. The trees with the Spanish moss gave a real southern feel to this park and it was great to just walk around. Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens
Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens offers gardens and trails where visitors can find peace and connect with nature. The park is a 501c nonprofit organization organized for the purpose of developing a unique natural attraction in their 120acre site. The park features an urban woodland full of trails for hikers to explore and enjoy through 13 distinct ecosystems. There are also points of interest and cyber yoga stations that can be accessed through QR codes located on posts along the trails.

Ed Austin Regional Park
Ed Austin Regional Park is a 144-acre site that was formerly known as the Dunes Golf Course. This Arlington=area park is the City’s top disc golf course with an 18-hole layout, as well as open and tree-lined fairways through the park carefully designed to challenge all players. Tournaments and events are hosted for more advanced players, while beginners of all ages can learn the game and techniques from advanced players who frequent the course. Additionally, the park includes lighted baseball fields, soccer fields, walking trails, community center, picnic area, and a dog park.

Dogwood Park
Dogwood Park is Jacksonville’s largest dog park. No need to worry about rabies, all the dogs who enter the park are vaccinated either by tag or vet record. Visitors are warmly welcomed to enjoy the park with no membership commitment by purchasing a daily pass. They must register with the office and pay the daily fee before entering the park. The park also offers self-serve bathing services and warm water tubs to get the dogs shiny and clean. The bathing services include brushes, towels, a choice of shampoo and spray conditioner, and ear cleaner.

Boone Park
Boone Park is a popular tourist destination that provides wonderful views of downtown Jacksonville. It was the world’s largest and talent fountain when it opened back in 1965. The fountain’s three pumps push up to 17,000 US gallons of water per minute up to 100 feet in height. Accentuated by colored lights at night, it has become a local recreation site for tourists and the community to relax. Both the Museum of Science and History and a popular restaurant with its own marina currently occupy portions of the original park. The Jacksonville Maritime Museum is also located on the Riverwalk, adjacent to the northeast corner of the park.

“This park is great for a nice walk or run. I walk my dog here often. The playground is one of the best I’ve seen for kids. They also have some fun adult exercise things to do while you watch your kids play. If you cross the street there are more tennis courts and more walking and exercise stops.
