VIP Pediatrics
Dr. Wolens believes in teaching parents and children about medicine and how to manage medical issues in children. During his academic career, he enjoyed teaching future doctors about pediatrics. Now, he wants to teach families about the medical needs of their children. He teaches parents how to manage most common childhood issues and when a trip to the doctor’s office is warranted.
He is also a strong advocate for breastfeeding infants. He has seen benefits of breastfeeding for any length of time, and he thinks that a goal of 6 breastfeeding for 6 months is a realistic goal for most mothers. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding for at least 1 year, and he applauds all moms who continue breastfeeding for this length of time or more.

Blue Fish Pediatrics
Dr. Kristen Diao (pronounced “dee-ow“) was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. Her family is originally from Taiwan. She graduated from Duke University in 2010, where she majored in Biology. She received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 2016. She completed her pediatric residency training at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital in 2019. Dr. Diao joined Blue Fish in the summer of 2019.
Dr. Diao met her husband Kevin in Boston through a mutual friend while they were both medical students. Thankfully, they were able to overcome their college rivalries (Duke>UNC) and happily married in 2016. She is excited to be in Houston for his radiation oncology training at MD Anderson. In their free time, they enjoy cooking ethnic foods, exploring secluded corners of the world, spending quality time with family and friends, and teaching little children at church.

Great Kids Pediatrics
Dr. Patrice Crane Storey completed her undergraduate training at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Following a move to the Lone Star State, she received her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
After completing a pediatric internship and residency at The University of Virginia in 1988, Dr. Crane Storey returned to Houston and began pediatric practice at MacGregor Medical Association, where she remained until 2001.
Prior to joining Dr. Paredes in 2002, Dr. Crane Storey’s interest in the care of very ill children led to her employment at Texas Children’s Hospital as a Pediatric Hospitalist. Dr. Crane Storey was a volunteer at the St. Cecilia Medical Clinic since for several years in the late 1990s. There she provided well child care and to underinsured infants and children.
