Southwest Globe Times published bi-weekly and 6,000 copies are shared throughout Southwest Philadelphia. Many articles are written by community members who want to support their programs and special events. In 1945, Joseph and Lillian Bartash started the publication of the Southwest Globe Times community newspaper that centered on the good news stories happening in Southwest Philadelphia.

In the summer of 2005, Southwest CDC initiated a partnership with Mr. and Mrs. Bartash to continue publishing the newspaper. Both, Mr. and Mrs. Bartash passed away in September 2007, just three weeks beyond. Southwest CDC is proud to pursue its legacy of sharing the good news.
