REVIEW:

“This is an awesome (free) local newspaper.  It was recommended to me when I was first looking for an apartment in Venice.  It has better listings than the LA Times for apartments in Westchester, Marina del Rey, Venice, Playa del Rey & Santa Monica.  And It is also a great source of info for local events and galleries.  There is an eye-opening ‘police reports’ section.   The Argonaut comes out weekly, on Thursday.” – Joan S.

REVIEW:

“The LA Weekly has a lot of good content but I am in awe of Jonathan Gold.  Even if I don’t agree with all of his reviews, the guy knows how to flat out write. But the main reason why I appreciate Gold is because he values authentic Asian cuisine and spends so much time eating in the SGV, that we should raise a chicken foot in his honor.  When he writes about Chinese food I sometimes wonder if the dude also had Chinese parents who whipped him on the legs with a two-dollar feather duster from 99 Ranch.  There aren’t too many white folks who understand the nuances of Chinese (and other ethnic) cuisine like he does.” – David B.
