Butler Pitch & Putt
Butler Pitch & Putt is an Austin innovative since 1949, the ten-hole, par 3 course has real grass greens with holes that are unique, fun, and easy to play. Now with a beer garden featuring the coldest beer on this side of town lake and local chef Michael Fojtasek’s world-famous biscuits. Built more than 70 years ago, they hope you enjoy this gem as much as the generations of Austinites that came before them. PGGP is a group of people that love parks, hospitality, and golf, and whose handicaps range from 4 to 24.
Together, they are committed to preserving and enhancing the historic character of this special place. They are local residents and business owners. They love this town. Lions Municipal Golf Course
Lions Municipal Golf Course has long been one of the City’s utmost famous courses. In 1924, the Lions Club starter Lions Municipal, the primary public golf course in the city. The group chartered part of UT’s Brackenridge Tract and transformed the property into a nine-hole facility. The course was later expanded to 18 holes.
The course withheld the title “Lions Municipal” or “Muny” after the assignment of the lease to the city in 1936. Lions have presented many prominent golfers, including Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Sandra Haynie, Tom Kite, and Ben Crenshaw. Lions also host Texas’ oldest amateur tournament, the Firecracker Open.

Jimmy Clay Golf Course
Jimmy Clay Golf Course opened in 1974, designed by famous golf course architect Joe Finger. Situated in Southeast Austin and surrounded by Williamson Creek, the course plays 6,918 yards through traditional wooded fairways and elevated open greens. Jimmy Clay experienced a major renovation of 3 holes in 2007 that were redesigned to include a demanding water feature near an island green.
All of the greens were reforestation and bunkers totally rebuilt. In 2015, a second renovation was done which incorporated the reshaping of 4 of the greens to greater improve conditions and playability. The driving range was expanded and reshaped with larger targets and landing areas and featuring a new towering hitting area for better visibility; creating a premier practice facility for golf patrons.
