Black Sheep Gifts
Black Sheep Gifts opened in May 2010. After moving to the Irvington neighborhood in 2000, owner Lisa Bennett said it was hard to find a good greeting card. Following the death of her father, Frank, she decided to invest his life insurance money and become an entrepreneur. The business name is registered with the state as Thanks, Frank LLC as a tribute to her father. She was known as the black sheep of her family, but on her father’s side, there are only black sheep with a few greys in the herd. Hence the name Black Sheep Gifts.

Silver In the City
Silver In the City is a Bricks and Mortar shop where they believe that providing a welcoming, fun, informative shopping experience is of the utmost importance. You will find so much more than they have online, and super friendly and helpful sales staff to share product knowledge, offer gift suggestions, and reach items on the top shelves for you. Back in 2000, while everybody else was barreling down to their fortified basements, ready to defend their stockpiles of distilled water and fruit jerky, they optimistically decided to establish an unconventional little gift shop that sold jewelry, housewares, and anything else that tickled their fancy.

“Gave my mom the puzzle subscription for mother’s day this year! She (and my dad) have loved having new puzzles arrive each week. The puzzles are of excellent quality and fun variety! There was a delay in the final puzzle shipping and Erick (from Carmel location) was so helpful on the phone and went above and beyond to get it worked out! Absolutely LOVE this store!” – Andrea G.
Artifacts Gallery plays an essential role in the local Indianapolis community by connecting art lovers with art makers. Artifacts were co-founded by Ann Kaplan and her dear friend Dotty, both originally East-Coasters who had landed in the Midwest. Their passion was arts, crafts, and connecting people with beautiful handcrafted objects. The handmade movement was in full effect, and so Artifacts Gallery was born in Ann’s living room.
She became involved in craft councils, juried art fairs, created an investment group, befriended artists, and lobbied the local government to protect small businesses.
