Dr Karen Horton is experienced in a wide range of cosmetic procedures, cementing her as one of the best plastic surgeons in San Francisco. She is an internationally board-certified surgeon, being a member of both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Royal College of Surgeons in Canada. Her core focus is both cosmetic and reconstructive work for women.
Dr Horton trained in the United States and Canada. She firstly completed a Bachelor of Science with Honors, before completing a Master of Science in Ontario, Canada. After this, Dr Horton graduated from the Medical School at the University of Toronto and then received five years’ worth of training in plastic surgery. She then moved to the Bay Area to commence her dream of opening a private practice.
Dr Horton’s father was also a surgeon, so her career choice was primarily inspired by his work. Dr Horton offers some of the most innovative services, in which she used microsurgical techniques to reconstruct breast tissue by using the body’s own tissue. Indeed, this minimizes the chances of long-term scarring and the need to sacrifice parts of the body’s major muscles. She also developed a unique service called the “Mommy Makeover”, which is designed for women who wish to rejuvenate their bodies after having children.
