Goodwill Construction Skills Training Center offers programs focused on specialized areas like construction, blueprint reading and estimating, and HVAC and electrical – help high school students and adults access high-potential, family-sustaining trade careers at no cost to them. Skills in these specialized areas can lead to much-needed jobs with great earning potential, health, and other benefits. It’s widely known that there’s a labor shortage in the construction industry – it’s worse than any other industry in the state.
And yet, Charlotte also tussles with economic flexibility, ranking last among the 50 largest cities in the nation. Their community needs a path for upward mobility and industry needs skilled workers. The Goodwill Construction Skills Training Center helps both high school students and adults. Any CMS student can participate in the youth programs, and anyone in their community can access the adult programs.
