The Tulsa Theater was intended as a municipal auditorium and convention hall by the architectural business and the building was known as Convention Hall when the facility officially opened, it was billed as the largest hall between Kansas City and Houston the building served as Tulsa Municipal Theater in 1979.

The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its architectural design. Tulsa Performing Arts Center

Tulsa Performing Arts Center started its doors in March 1977 as the City’s new municipal theatre and the first concert took place on March 19, 1977, featuring the Tulsa Philharmonic and jazz great Ella Fitzgerald. TPAC was owned and operated by the City of Tulsa and they are a nonprofit entity that believes that all people deserve access to quality arts experiences.
