Dr. Michael G. Cedars, MD, is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has been practicing for 25 years in the San Francisco-East Bay area. He holds degrees in both electrical engineering and biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Cedars, a native of small-town Texas, and his three siblings were all inspired to go to medical school by their physician father. Dr. Cedars went to medical school in California in 1973. He subsequently relocated to Los Angeles for an eight-year internship and residency in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery, culminating in a UCLA fellowship in Craniofacial and Microvascular Surgery.
Dr. Cedars have been a member of the Craniofacial Team at Children’s Hospital and Research Center of Oakland for 25 years, treating children with a range of congenital abnormalities of the head and face, despite being in private practice.
