Craig Yamamoto, DDS, At the University of Hawaii, finished his undergraduate studies and earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. He was urged to submit an application to dental school after later deciding that he wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. He decided to attend Northwestern University by going back to Illinois. His Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree and induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the National Dental Honor Society, occurred in 1988.
Dr. Yamamoto completed a one-year general practice residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital following dental school. He fell in love with surgery during this residency and decided to pursue it further by finishing a four-year oral and maxillofacial residency at the University of California in San Francisco.
