River Oaks Shopping Center

River Oaks Shopping Center was developed and later opened in 1937 by Hugh Potter, an attorney, and a developer. It holds the title of one of the first established theatres in the country. It has an open-air style center and with notable fondness of machine mechanisms on its buildings. One of the famous part of the shopping center is the River Oaks Theater. The theatre was made in 1939 and is the last movie theater in Houston that is still serving its original purpose up to this day.

Vintage Park Contains sixteen buildings with safe walkways. It is the retail arm of The Vintage and has 324,000 square feet ground floor area solely for medical and retail purposes. And a 24,000 square feet second floor intended as an office area. The shopping complex seems to be modeled after an Italian shopping center with its nearby Piazza and approx. one acre walkway area. Its interior is clearly of Mediterannean style while the Piazza boasts of relaxing fountain and landscape. Diners can enjoy this view from various locations in the center. Upgrading of the shopping center is in the works with additional space for luxury residences, apartment complexes, 123-room hotel and St. Lukes and Kelsey Seybold medical school.
