The Galleria was constructed in 1867 and is Texas’ biggest shopping haven and comes fourth nationally. The design was notably patterned to that of the Gallerina Vittorio Emanuele in Milan. It has 2.4 million square feet of area containing 400 quality stores, food establishments, two Westin Hotels, and 3 office skyscrapers. A popular shopping and recreation spot, it is visited by a blend of Houstonians and foreign guests. World-class amenities like an ice rink, play area for children, two swimming pools, local and international banks, two tailor stores, beauty salons, and a postal office comprise The Galleria. High end and modern retail clothes shops are all available at The Galleria.

River Oaks Shopping Center
River Oaks Shopping Center was developed and later opened in 1937 by Hugh Potter, an attorney, and a developer. It holds the title of one of the first established theatres in the country. It has an open-air style center and with notable fondness of machine mechanisms on its buildings. One of the famous part of the shopping center is the River Oaks Theater. The theatre was made in 1939 and is the last movie theater in Houston that is still serving its original purpose up to this day.

Memorial City Mall
Memorial City Mall is built in the year 1960’s and in 2000 it underwent intricate and full renovation The mall is located inside the Memorial City. It is under the management of MetroNational and is situated in the western part of Houston. Aside from carrying a lot of top fashion brands, mid-priced items can also be purchased here. They host quite several interesting events like fitness sessions, movie premieres, video game night and ice skating.

Vintage Park Contains sixteen buildings with safe walkways. It is the retail arm of The Vintage and has 324,000 square feet ground floor area solely for medical and retail purposes. And a 24,000 square feet second floor intended as an office area. The shopping complex seems to be modeled after an Italian shopping center with its nearby Piazza and approx. one acre walkway area. Its interior is clearly of Mediterannean style while the Piazza boasts of relaxing fountain and landscape. Diners can enjoy this view from various locations in the center. Upgrading of the shopping center is in the works with additional space for luxury residences, apartment complexes, 123-room hotel and St. Lukes and Kelsey Seybold medical school.

Highland Village is a shopping center located in the River Oaks in Westheimer owned by the Highland Village Holding, Inc. It has been established in 1957 and has since been under the on-site teams watch. The day-to-day operations are carefully monitored. They have to maintain the polished landscape which is a product of an expert horticulturist’s hand. As well as the tight 24-hour security measures and decorations for every season. Every year they host the lighting of the Highland Village. It is a well-loved Houston custom that turns the place into a haven of beautifully blinking lights.
