Second Chance Inc.
Second Chance Inc. is a Baltimore-based social enterprise that dismantles buildings that would otherwise be demolished and buried in a landfill to provide “green-collar jobs” for displaced people. They then sell the recycled materials at a discount to the general public at their 200,000-square-foot retail warehouse, which helps to fund its job development programs. They use the money to give job training and workforce development to those in the Baltimore area who are facing various employment challenges.
Second Chance is a charitable organization dedicated to giving people, materials, and the environment a second chance. For over 16 years, they’ve been happy to be known as “Second Chance,” preserving the region’s unique architectural heritage, safeguarding the environment, and offering living-wage jobs to those with barriers to work.
