The Soulard School
The Soulard School grew from the little school and gym, an early childhood program, with the initiation staff and families at that time working side-by-side to establish a different type of schooling for their children. Because of this cooperation, an elementary program rooted in the practices and values of early childhood emerged, specifically the ideas that learning can be active, playful, and joyous, that growing social-emotional health and well-being is valuable, and that empowering children to independently problem-solve for themselves and with their peers is worthwhile. It is this “different type of schooling” that is felt like visitors, students, staff, and parents exploring our halls and observing our classes in action.

North Side Community School
North Side Community School started in August 2009 as a public school on the former campus of Emergency Children’s Home (ECHO). They opened because their creators saw a critical, unfulfilled need for quality, accessible education for children living in St. Louis City, an area greatly challenged by poverty and violence. North Side served 51 kindergarten and first-grade students during their initial year. The school has continued to develop, adding a new grade each year. In 2011, they initiated a pre-kindergarten program that now serves 45 children each year. In 2018, they opened their middle school in Grand Center.
They now serve more than 510 students. North Side will continue a debt-free, high-quality public engages school serving impoverished, under-served neighborhoods in St. Louis. They will service students in grades pre-k through 8th grade and cooperate closely with parents and guardians. Parents and the community will admire and support the dedication and quality of the school. Their graduates will carry out successfully in high school because of the education they acquired at North Side.

South City Community School was started in the late 2000s by a couple of families in south city. Driven by their faith undertakings, these families were dedicated to building up underserved urban areas in need of renewal.
