Brearley School
Brearley School is a girl-exclusive private school located in the Upper East Side neighborhood in the Manhattan borough. Brearley is divided into lower, middle, and upper schools that have around 60 students per grade level. Brearley is a member of the New York Interschool Association and is also considered as Collegiate School’s all-boys academy’s sister school and Chapin School, another all-girls school where they share an after-school program and classes.

Eastern Village Community School
Eastern Village Community School was established in 1987 as a grassroots effort by neighborhood parents who wanted an alternative public school for their kids that has a similar feel to other successful alternative schools in other areas. Manhattan International High School
Manhattan International High School is an alternative high school founded in 1993 dedicated to serving ESL students. Their program came under the aegis of the Coalition of Essential Schools (CES) and is supported by their sister school, LaGuardia Community College’s International High School. MIHS is a small community, only having around 300 students, it’s a place where there is a focus on collaboration between its faculty and students with a deep respect for all ethnicities and cultures beyond academic and performance-based activities.
MIHS’s academic infrastructure doesn’t follow the accepted standard about English language learners by teaching their students content from their first day and use an innovative system of mixed ability grouping, enabling students to maximize their learning and practice collaboration.
