Aloha Tower

Bishop Museum
Bishop Museum was established in 1889 by Charles Reed Bishop in respect of his late wife, Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop, the last heir of the royal Kamehameha family. The Museum was founded to house the broad assortment of Hawaiian objects and royal family antiques of the Princess and has extended to incorporate millions of objects, documents, and photographs about Hawaii and other Pacific island cultures.
Mr. Bishop built the splendid Polynesian and Hawaiian Halls on the grounds of the first Kamehameha Schools for Boys. The Museum and School joined the Kapālama school in 1940 when a new larger school complex was started in the vicinity of Kapālama Heights.
