After losing his rental on Sullivan Street, John Sasso resisted his first coal-fired brick oven and transferred it into 278 Bleecker Street at which he proceeded to administer and grow his own company and amplify his championship recipe into perfection. Augustine Vesce bought the company by his brothers and he also continued to have and operate John’s pizzeria before he passed away in 1984, transferring his heritage.

No frills type place for sure – Limited seating, the staff is friendly enough as long as you don’t ask questions, the wait can be long depending on when you arrive, little pricey ($5 regular, $6 square seen in the pic), small upcharge for using a CC. Sauce is bomb, crust is crispy. I would def recommend the square over the regular, which was good but not as good in my opinion. Louie & Ernie’s Pizza is situated in Crosby Avenue in The Bronx, NYC. The authentic pizza brother originated in 1947, positioned in Harlem, New York before going to the Pelham Bay section of The Bronx in 1959.
