Audubon Park

New Orleans City Park
New Orleans City Park, for more than 170 years, Southeast Louisiana residents and visitors have had access to a wealth of natural and cultural treasures through New Orleans City Park, which also serves as a gateway to the area’s most famous park and offers something for everyone.

Coliseum Square Park
Coliseum Square Park, in order to establish their own residential areas, the growing number of Americans moving to New Orleans after the 1803 Louisiana Purchase migrated upriver from the Vieux Carré. Barthélémy Lafon, a French architect, engineer, and surveyor, was engaged by Madame Delord-Sarpy to partition her plantation into a new Faubourg, or suburb, outside the city’s colonial limits.
Lafon’s 1806 plan, which envisioned a neighborhood in the classical style, envisioned an oblong grid of city blocks with a roughly triangular-shaped park at its center as the focus of the area’s social and intellectual life. The nine muses of Greek mythology were used to name the streets established on these formerly Jesuit-owned plantation lands, and the name of the three-acre park was taken from a proposed but unbuilt Collesée, or coliseum, in the Roman style.

Woldenberg Park
Woldenberg Park is a large, open green area measuring 16 acres that stretches between the Mississippi River and the famous French Quarter. Visit the nearby Audubon Aquarium of the Americas or Entergy Giant Screen Theater to start or end your stroll through the park. City people like the sculptures and artwork, as well as the riverbank jogging trail.

Louis Armstrong Park
Louis Armstrong Park, perhaps no other single place in a city known for its musical traditions can lay claim to as much musical and cultural history and importance as Louis Armstrong. The address is 701 N. Rampart Street on the outskirts of the French Quarter, the park honors the legacy of jazz in the City as well as one of its most famous native sons.
The Tremé district, where many of New Orleans’ most well-known jazz musicians were born, is where the park is situated. In the park, the National Park Service is present and operational. Historic Congo Square is located inside the park’s boundaries.
