Cherokee Park
Cherokee Park, a 409-acre city park in Louisville, is owned and operated by the Louisville Olmsted Parks Conservancy. Frederick Law Olmsted, a pioneer of landscape architecture, constructed this park in 1891, along with 18 of Louisville’s 123 parks. Cherokee Park’s main feature is the 2.3-mile Scenic Loop, which has separate lanes for motorists and pedestrians. In the Beargrass Creek valley, the park, one of Frederick Law Olmsted’s original designs, is a pastoral environment with rolling hills, open meadows, and woodlands.

Beckley Creek Park
Beckley Creek Park has many pathways, picnic areas, and a playground. With its Garden Gateway access straddling Shelbyville Road near the I-265/I-64 crossroads, Beckley Creek is a classic urban park in The Parklands, and it is the northern stretch of The Parklands. Beckley Creek Park serves the surrounding suburbs with picnic areas and fishing lakes, farmer’s markets, community gardens, paved and unpaved trails that snake down the creek, and the Gheens Foundation Lodge for business meetings and wedding festivities.

Hal Warheim Park
Hal Warheim Park was founded in 1974 by Hal Warheim, who bought a piece of land that was undeveloped and bordered by residential properties on Overlook Terrace, Yale Drive, and Boulevard. In Louisville, Kentucky, it was dubbed “The Woods” by the locals. Residents of the area complained that it was overgrown and unsightly, but Hal saw potential in it as a reclaimed natural space and a park for the community. The entire community may enjoy it. In 2004, the ideal became a reality, and it has since become a popular gathering location.

Joe Creason Park
Joe Creason Park is a municipal park in Louisville. It lies near the center of the city, in the popular upper-level neighborhood. Prior to becoming a park, the park was part of the same property as Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve, which is adjacent to and links to the park. The Metro Parks administrative offices, as well as the nine clay courts of the Louisville Tennis Center, are located in this park, which is popular with bird watchers and cross-country runners. The public is welcome to visit the 41-acre Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve, which has a 3.1-mile hiking trail run by the Louisville Nature Center.

“Love this park. I took my 1.5 year old here and we were able to do almost all of the playground equipment together. There are several stations with playcourses and swing sets, lots of room to picnic, plenty of shade as well as open field areas. In the winter it has one of the biggest – maybe the biggest – and best hills in the city to sled down. Usually easy to find a parking space and not very crowded for how awesome it is. Warwick Park
Warwick Park is suitable for people of all ages because it was designed with them in mind. This 8.4-acre park, which was reopened in May 2007 after a substantial makeover, now has a large pavilion, four basketball goals, a baseball diamond, and a separate practice backstop. Around the park’s circumference is a 2.3-mile asphalt walking track, as well as a modern play area with a swing and adult seats for children aged 4 to 12. During the spring and fall seasons, as well as for other activities, an open field in the park’s center is perfect for kite flying, disk tossing, and hosting a variety of soccer practices and games by local schools and sporting teams.
