Nuevo Laredo Cantina
Nuevo Laredo Cantina was opened by Chance Evans in the summer of 1992. He initially brought true Mexican gastronomy to Atlanta in the 1980s when he opened the U.S. He was a fan of Mexico, its food, and its culture. Bar Y Grill is a restaurant in New York City. Nuevo Laredo Cantina opened its doors in a campy, off-the-beaten-path area with the sole purpose of serving real, home-cooked Mexican food to the lunch patrons of the nearby industries.
Chance Evans, a Georgia native, is possibly Atlanta’s most successful restaurateur. He hasn’t franchised or enlarged Nuevo Laredo, preferring to keep it as a one-of-a-kind, first-class establishment. During his time working for the Coca-Cola Company in the 1960s, Evans developed a strong affinity for Mexico. He continues to visit Mexico on a regular basis, as evidenced by the restaurant’s flare and décor, which includes a smorgasbord of products hand-picked during his visits.
