Chuy’s
Chuy’s was known for its menu of meals created from scratch. On renowned Barton Springs Road in Austin, Chuy’s opened its doors on April 16, 1982, in an old, closed Texas barbecue restaurant. There was seating for around sixty people, a tiny women’s restroom, and an outside men’s bathroom. The restaurant’s founders, Mike Young and John Zapp had a vision for a vibrant and trendy Tex-Mex spot that offered real, fresh food in a welcoming environment.
