“This is the premier Mexican food must-have must-try go-to chain. We had some food catered at work and the quality is so far above anything else out there. The chips are incredible, salsa is legendary, tortillas are outstanding, and the ground beef has layers of flavor. Don’t be like me and miss out for years.” – Jeremy I.
Chuy’s was known for its menu of meals created from scratch. On renowned Barton Springs Road in Austin, Chuy’s opened its doors on April 16, 1982, in an old, closed Texas barbecue restaurant. There was seating for around sixty people, a tiny women’s restroom, and an outside men’s bathroom. The restaurant’s founders, Mike Young and John Zapp had a vision for a vibrant and trendy Tex-Mex spot that offered real, fresh food in a welcoming environment.
Chuy’s was developed from these modest origins. Since then, they have been bringing what began as “Deep in the Heart of Tex-Mex” to culinary and entertainment enthusiasts all around the country, extending the vision of fresh, authentic Tex-Mex.
