Brookside Sushi
Brookside Sushi, in 1990 Salvador came to Kansas City and found his first job at Kabuki Japanese Restaurant in Crown Center. Despite not speaking English, Salvador worked his way up from washing dishes to rolling sushi within three years and has not stopped. After they closed at the end of 2012, Salvador worked at a couple of other restaurants before becoming a co-owner of Kabuki Sushi in Brookside. And now, as head chef with full creative freedom at Brookside Sushi, he is thrilled to present his craft to you.

Sayachi Sushi
Sayachi Sushi, Carlos Falcon is well-known in Kansas City for introducing Veracruz style Mexican seafood in 2014 at his first restaurant, Jarocho. Falcon’s passion for quality seafood and his unique style of combining Asian techniques with his Mexican cuisine promptly gained popularity in Kansas City, and Falcon opened his second restaurant, Jarocho South in 2017. Sayaka Falcon, Falcon’s wife, is the managing partner and is a native of Okinawa, Japan.
He always dreamed of opening a sushi restaurant devoted to his wife, Sayaka. The dream came true sooner than later when Falcon found a space in the Brookside neighborhood. He named the restaurant Sayachi, which is a childhood nickname of Sayaka Falcon. He designed the sushi bar, bar, open kitchen, and the dining room himself to be simple yet inviting where guests can relish sushi and drinks.

“So Good! New favorite place for Hibachi! Only been once but had steak and shrimp. The rice was seasoned and had the best flavor anywhere. Butterfly Shrimp was cooked with lemons and seasoning and was Delicious! The only thing I would say is the steak could’ve used some extra seasoning but the sauces helped out with that.
